Rev R A Graham on Sept 12 says that Ital writer V Scattolini, who specialized in fabricating Vatican information between '39 and '48, duped US news orgns and secret agencies, and probably Hitler and USSR; Rome Ct in '48 sentenced Scattolini to 7 mos in prison for 'attempt to upset relations between Italy and the Holy See' and for fabrication of Vatican documents; Graham says some repts sold to orgns, diplomatic missions and secret services apparently found their way to Hitler's desk and that he uncovered clues pointing to acquisition of material by Soviet secret agents; cites several news items that were sent by Rome bur of United Press, forerunner of United Press Internatl, on basis of repts from Scattolini and were published by NY Times and many other US newspapers; false rept used by Times asserted that Rev G B Montini, now Pope Paul VI, met secretly with Ital Communist leader P Togliatti
