IN THE BROOKLYN MUSEUM a group of frescoes from North Italy recently has been installed. Four belong to the early sixteenth century and two are of later date. They come from localities in the Province of Bergamo, two of them are from church interiors and the others are from the exteriors of houses, all being in an excellent state of preservation and examples of a kind of art which is rare in this country.

REPORT OF BANKS; Bear Out the News That Has Been Received from Commercial Centres.

The figures of central city and country totals of loans and deposits that have been made up for the Controller of the Currency from detailed bank reports made in answer to the call of April 18 show a fair expansion of general trade during the months of March and April, and a large gain over the figures of March, 1911.
